2008 augusztusában az VIII. kerületi önkormányzat a Tavaszmező utca 6. alatti épület bontását és az abban működő szervezetek bérleti jogának megszüntetését tervezte. Ennek hatására a házban működő szervezetek (Roma Parlament, Phralipe Alapítvány, Amaro Drom szerkesztőség) és a szomszédos Művészkert (József utca 37.) mellett számos civil szervezet fogott össze azért, hogy az a kulturális érték, ami itt létrejött, a megóvásra érdemes épületben megmaradjon, illetve fenntarthatóvá váljon.
Az egykor szebb napokat látott házban ma négy család él, valamint itt működik 1991 óta a Magyarországi Roma Parlament (MRP) és a Phralipe cigány szervezet. Az MRP Jogvédő Irodája mellett itt találjuk az Amaro Drom szerkesztőségét, egy többfunkciós színháztermet, az időszaki kiállításoknak otthont adó Balázs János Galériát, és az ország egyetlen, ingyenesen látogatható állandó roma kortárs képzőművészeti tárlatát.

Laura Barsy performed a Flamenco dance at the 8th District's Roma Parliament at last Saturday's Magdi Fesztivál.

Along with my photo series of her stage dance on Tavaszmező utca I also have uploaded two mp3 recordings. One, a short mp3 of Laura Barsy and her guitarist (his name?) tuning up in the kert of the Roma Parliament building and preparing for the stage out in the street. And the 2nd mp3 is of the two of them performing on-stage at Tavaszmező utca....
